    Ultra Madonna music festival?

It was to no surprise that it was Ultra music festival weekend in Miami…the crowds of people in downtown Miami might have been a hint. For those of you lucky enough to attend– judging by the lineup which included David Guetta, Tiesto, Skrillex, Benny Benassi and Avicci to name a few–you were in for the best days of your life. While the festival was without a doubt a success, it couldn’t slide by without some surprises and controversy.

A couple of you lucky Madonna fans were treated to a surprise when the 53-year old Queen of pop hit the stage to introduce Avicci, who produced a remix to her new single “Girl Gone Wild.” She began with saying “Who’s seen Molly?” If you were unaware like I was, you’d be looking around for Molly. But Molly is a street name for MDMA, an active compound in ecstasy. This comment fired up a social media war with Deadmau5 who posted on his Facebook “That’s your big contribution to EDM? … Hipsterspeak for looking for drugs? (Bad word) off you (bad word) idiot … Such a great message for the young music lovers.” Madonna responded back saying that she was referring to a song, and that she would never promote any drug use.

Towards the end of the argument  the DJ tweeted “Regardless, just be a little more aware of what you *should* represent at EDM (electronic dance music) events, and I’ll watch my mouth,” and Madonna, being who she is, managed to get the last Tweet in “@deadmau5 Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up “privately.” 😉 See you on the road.” I’m assuming it’s safe to say Madonna- 1 Deadmau5- 0?
