You cannot resist falling in love with Amelia, Sofia and their fluffy Pink cat from the first time you meet them. This book is a beautiful way of teaching your kids to respect and to be very careful when playing tricks with one another. In a very subtle and quirky way, Pinto-Kroujiline, or as I prefer to call her: Jime, narrates a day in the life of Amelia and Sofia while at home playing with their always sleepy cat Pink. Isn’t Pink’s or any cat’s job to sleep all day? I am sure it is …  Its main characters are portrayed by vivid and colorful illustrations. From the adorable sleeping mask Pink wears, to the yellow stuffed duck and the big bunny ears; Jime makes everything look so cute. She also combines illustrations with real photos and textures and makes it more fun to see. Explosions of color and cute “girly girl” dresses make the book perfect for young girls like my niece Gabriela to read. Its always fun to get into Amelia’s world. Amelia has an interesting way of seeing life and her stories are simple but full of important messages and splashes of color. Its also great having the opportunity to read the book in Spanish… without the need of having 2 different books. Side note: the best part of the Spanish version is the “Cuchi-cuchi-cuchi” moment at the beginning of the book – love it! Amelia is definitely pretty in pink! === Title: Amelia in Pink, the Sleepless Cat Author/Illustrator: Jimena Pinto-Kroujiline Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, $9.99 Publication Date: 12 November 2012 ISBN: 9781480267893 Format: Paperback For ages: 3-7 Type: Juvenile Fiction / Imagination & Play
